Today, we’re covering some usefull phrases for you to get through Dutch life. I’ve selected eight phrases to teach you and I invite you to repeat them after me while you listen to them. Here we go.
Nummer 1: Wat betekent fiets? Wat betekent fiets? This means: what does bike mean? Or what does fiets mean? Dat betekent fiets. Yes? So, nummer 1: ‘Wat betekent’ and then the word that you want to know.
Nummer 2: Hoe zeg je bike in het Nederlands? Hoe zeg je bike in het Nederlands? How do you say bike in Dutch? So once again: hoe zeg je bike in het Nederlands?
Nummer 3: Wat is stamppot? Wat is stamppot? Of course translated as: what is stamppot?
Nummer 4: Waar is de bibliotheek? Waar is de bibliotheek? Where is the library? Waar is de bibliotheek?
Nummer 5: Pardon, of sorry, mag ik iets vragen? Pardon, mag ik iets vragen? This means excuse me, may I ask something? Pardon, mag ik iets vragen?
Nummer 6: Kunt u dat herhalen? Kunt u dat herhalen? Can you repeat that? Once more: kunt u dat herhalen?
Heel goed.
Nummer 7: Ik spreek een beetje Nederlands. Ik spreek een beetje Nederlands. I speak a little bit of Dutch. This one is especially for you. Ik spreek een beetje Nederlands.
The last one, de laatste: iets langzamer alstublieft. Iets langzamer alstublieft. This means a little slower please. Iets langzamer alstublieft.
